What does it mean to be Neurodiverse?
Individuals on the autism spectrum or with varying other learning or social differences are valuable but often misunderstood members of our communities. The concept of Neurodiversity is the notion that these differences are, in fact, ways in which we can learn from each other and benefit society as a whole.
Rachel Hawkins is an Occupational Therapist and an Autism/Neurodiversity Advocate in the Greater D.C. Metropolitan Area.
She herself being on the autism spectrum gives a personal and unique insight into what challengers those who are neurodiverse face and what wonderful range of talents they possess.
